Over the last 30 years, lasers have evolved to become a common device in many dental offices. Although lasers are available, many practitioners have not had an opportunity or the information to experience the full benefit they have to offer clinically. The purpose of this course is to provide a general overview of the concepts of laser use, the lasers available in dentistry in the U.S., and how lasers can be utilized as an integral component of a clinician’s armamentarium. Also, photobiomodulation and its implications in treatment will be discussed as well.
