Dr. Tamanna Tiwari is the Chair and Associate Professor for Primary Dental Care at the University of Minnesota. She is a dentist with an M.P.H. from New York University. Dr. Tiwari is funded by NIH-NIDCR, industry, foundation, and the state Health Department to conduct research to reduce oral health inequities and promote medical-behavioral-dental integration. Her research delves into social determinants of health, structural racism, and behavioral health, how these impact communities' oral health, and how integration of care can improve patient outcomes. Dr. Tiwari is on the editorial board of the "Journal of Dental Education" and has published extensively in education, public health, data equity, and translation research. She is recognized as a leader in oral health. She has received awards such as the ADA Mid-Career Faculty Award for Evidence-Based Dentistry, AADOCR Oral Health Equity Research Award, and the IADR Centennial Emerging Leaders.
