Dr. David Avenetti is a pediatric dentist at the UIC College of Dentistry & Clinics. Dr. Avenetti provides direct patient care and oversees patient care in both clinic and hospital settings. He is actively involved in clinical care, education, research, and professional leadership, and he supervises residents treating children (including those with special healthcare needs) in the Pediatric Dentistry Clinics, the Outpatient Care Center, and at the University of Illinois Hospital. Dr. Avenetti teaches pre-doctoral and post-doctoral courses on a range of pediatric dental topics and provides continuing education for practicing dentists and staff, and his research focuses on improving children's oral health and reducing disparities in underserved communities. He is also engaged in educational research related to leadership development and interprofessional training. Blending clinical expertise, public health, and education, Dr. Avenetti is dedicated to advancing equitable, high-quality dental care for all children. Dr. Avenetti holds leadership roles within the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and organized dentistry. He is an associate professor at the UIC College of Dentistry, where he serves as Department Head and Director of the Pediatric Dentistry Outpatient Care Center.
