Karen A. Baker, M.S., B.S., R.Ph.

Professor Karen Baker has been on the faculty of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry for 45 years and occupies a unique role in dental practice and education. She is a clinical pharmacist with a Master’s degree in clinical pharmacology and therapeutics and focuses on patient-specific dental drug therapy and risk management in medically complex dental patients. Known for her practical and entertaining lecture style as well as her legendary handouts, she has been a popular lecturer across North America for decades. Her College-based pharmacy and drug therapy consultation center serves dental professionals and patients daily and is the only full-service dental specialty pharmacy in the United States.
