Dr. Ben Youel, DDS, MS, is an orthodontist and business owner at Grayslake Orthodontics in Grayslake, IL. He earned his DDS from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), where he was selected for the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society prior to graduation. He then completed a 12-month General Practice Residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. After practicing as a general dentist for a few years, he returned to UIC to complete his orthodontic residency, serving as class president and earning his Master of Science in Oral Sciences. His research examined the sentiment of language used on Twitter surrounding mail-order aligner treatment and traditional orthodontic treatment. Dr. Youel is an active volunteer in the Chicago Dental Society (CDS), the Illinois State Dental Society, the American Dental Association, and the Illinois Society of Orthodontists. He has been featured on the CDS podcast Filling You In and has given lectures regionally on leadership, personal development, and phase I orthodontics. He practices at his Grayslake office Monday through Thursday, works two Saturdays and one Friday a month at an office in Morton Grove, and volunteers one day each month at the CDS Foundation’s free clinic in Wheaton. His free time is spent with his wife, Maggie, daughter, Genevieve, and their cat and dog, Anders and Ivy.
