Dr. Umair Ahmed , BDS is an Orofacial Pain, TMD and Dental Sleep Medicine Specialist based in Sacramento, California. He is a Diplomate with the American Board of Orofacial Pain and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. He graduated with a BDS degree from Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Pakistan. Subsequently, he completed a post-doctoral CODA residency in Orofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine from the School of Dentistry, University of California at Los Angeles. His primary interests are in the treatment and management of temporomandibular disorders, head and neck pain, dental sleep medicine, and primary headache disorders. He has been involved in academia as a full-time Assistant Professor as an Orofacial Pain Specialist in Northern California. He has a strong interest, background and affiliation towards the specialties of Oral Medicine, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Pathology & Radiology, Endodontics, Removable Prosthodontics, Head and Neck Oncology, Forensic Odontology. His others interests also include but are not limited to Basic Biomedical Research, Clinical Research in Dental Medicine, Head and Neck Anatomy, Dental Public Health & Public Policy, Bioethics, Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Pharmacology, Community Medicine & Health Administration, Evidence-Based Dentistry, Global Health Systems, Special Needs Dentistry, Medical Emergencies in Dental Medicine, Physical Medicine, teaching AHA BLS, CPR, ACLS, ATLS, PALS courses, Complimentary and Integrative Health & Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine [TCM], and lastly learning, teaching & practicing "Healing with the Medicine" of the Holy, Noble, Pious and Pure, Last and Final Messenger and Prophet ~ Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa [PBUH].
