Do you treat patients who are taking a long list of medications? Are you fully aware of how your patients' underlying conditions and the medications that they are taking impact periodontal and peri-implant health? Both periodontal disease and edentulism demonstrate increased prevalence with age. Further, more than 40% of older Americans are taking 5 or more medications for a multitude of systemic diseases. In this course, Board Certified Periodontist, Mia L Geisinger DDS, MS, will review the impacts of systemic conditions on periodontal and peri-implant health and further discuss the impacts of systemic medications on periodontal disease progression and implant success. Join us to unpack together how dental healthcare professionals can best treat patients with systemic disease to optimize their oral and overall health.
