Diane Millar is an internationally recognized speaker, dental hygiene educator, and practicing dental hygienist with over four decades of experience. For the past thirty years, she has shared her expertise as an educator, blending academic insight with practical strategies to improve clinical performance and career longevity. She earned her Master’s in Education from Pepperdine University, where she began pioneering advanced reinforced instrumentation techniques in response to the growing concern over musculoskeletal injuries in the profession. Diane has served on faculty at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry and Cerritos College, and for the past sixteen years she has been an Associate Instructor at West Coast University in Anaheim, California. She is the author of Reinforced Periodontal Instrumentation and Ergonomics for the Dental Care Provider, a key resource for clinicians seeking both precision and protection in daily practice. In recognition of her leadership and service, Diane received the prestigious Sigma Phi Alpha Award from the National Dental Hygiene Honor Society in 2021. As a continuing education provider for the California Dental Board, she leads seminars and hands-on workshops across the U.S. and internationally, empowering dental professionals with ergonomic techniques. She also teaches advanced instrumentation courses online to hygienists and hygiene students throughout the U.S. and Canada.
