Dr. Pruett is Co-Director of the Athens GPR Program at Piedmont Hospital in Athens, Georgia. He previously served as the Director of Continuing Education at the Dental College of Georgia and, before that, as Director of the General Practice Residency Program at the Dental College of Georgia for 21 years. He received his DMD from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry and completed a two-year General Practice Residency at the University of Virginia. Following residency, he became the Director of Dentistry at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. Dr. Pruett has placed and restored dental implants for more than 32 years and maintains an active practice in Athens, Georgia. He is Co-Director of the Augusta University/American Academy of Implant Dentistry Maxi-Course and lectures nationally and internationally on a variety of topics. He was the 2013 recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Dental College of Georgia and received the prestigious Hinman Medallion in 2018.
