Peter O. Cabrera, DDS is a Chicago periodontist specializing in periodontics and dental implant surgery. A graduate of Northwestern University (BS) and the University of Illinois College of Dentistry (DDS), he completed his periodontal residency at Northwestern University Dental School. Dr. Cabrera is a past president of both the Illinois Society of Periodontists and the Midwest Society of Periodontology. He was on the affiliate staff of Lurie Children’s Hospital for 35 years. He has been a guest lecturer at several dental schools and lectures nationally and internationally. Dr. Cabrera’s principal areas of interest are soft tissue reconstruction and periodontal-orthodontic interactions. He recently published a paper on “Wire Syndrome: Periodontal Complications and Management” as well as a 37-year retrospective on connective tissue grafting. He is recognized for developing innovative, minimally invasive surgical approaches. Dr. Cabrera’s presentations draw on over 43 years of clinical and teaching experience.
