Dr. Carolyn Brown, DDS, MEd is a growth- and strategy-focused healthcare executive with deep experience across clinical practice, payer systems, and digital health. She serves as Dental Director of the Health Plan of San Mateo and as a Strategic Advisor to MouthWatch, Dentistry.One, Overjet, and vVardis. She is recognized as a leading authority on dental innovation, benefits, prevention, and access to care. An active angel investor for more than 20 years, she has invested in and partnered with over eight companies in the dental sector. Dr. Brown holds a DDS from the University of Maryland, a Master’s Degree in education, certificates in dental education and sustainable capitalism/ESG from UC Berkeley School of Law, and held faculty appointments at UCSF and the University of the Pacific. Her early career included service with the Indian Health Service, leadership of a federally qualified health center, and NIH-funded research. She has published more than 15 peer-reviewed articles and served on numerous national and statewide committees.
