Dr. Sobia Bilal is an Associate Professor in the Division of Prevention and Public Health and the Director of Interprofessional Education (IPE) at the UIC College of Dentistry. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in dentistry, a Master’s Degree in dental public health from the University of London, and a PhD from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. With extensive academic and research experience, her vision for IPE at UIC is to cultivate a culture of mutual respect, teamwork, and integrated care among health care professionals. By promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, she advances comprehensive patient care and public health initiatives. She has enhanced the chairside prevention curriculum to improve patient outcomes and has published widely on health promotion, disease prevention, tobacco control, medical education, and health-related quality of life. In addition, she has contributed to the development of health promotion programs and facilitated scholarly training initiatives.
