With countless self-care products on the market, a seemingly infinite array of microbial species in the oral microbiome, diverse manifestations of oral diseases, and ever-evolving research into their pathologies, developing truly individualized care plans can be a daunting task for oral health professionals. Are all therapeutic products and mechanical recommendations essentially the same, or is there a proper gold standard? This session will explore current evidence, challenge assumptions, and provide practical strategies for tailoring recommendations to meet each patient’s unique needs.
Fee: October-December: $90 January-February: $130
Learning Objectives:
Describe the complexity of the oral microbiome and its relationship to oral disease pathologies.
Evaluate factors influencing the creation of individualized, patient-centered oral care plans.
